  1. Love it.  What if as you 'take' the smarties out of the box and put them into the card box, you do the shake with nothing in your hand?  Adding a magical instance of 'hey he's got the smarties in his hand somehow and now into the box'.  The only issue being that they may then say ok he's got a box up his sleeve otherwise how is he making the sound.  But for the right crowd, say a kids birthday party, that might add a neat transition into the card box.  I don't know if I'm explaining my self properly so you can know what I mean.

Also I wonder about the ability to do any other trick before or after this without making the sound.  So it almost becomes a one off unless you can get clean with the box.  Would love to hear how you might do that Jay.  This would be a great table magic for restaurant work, except getting the box off your wrist.  I wonder also if there is a way to deaden the sound so you don't have to get the box off.

Another thought is I don't even know if you need sleeves.  I will have elastics on my wrists anyways for elastic work, and I noticed that you didn't ever really flash your wrist.  So you could do this sleeveless, which then maybe make it easier later to ditch the box.

Been a fan of yours for a long time, and have been learning from you and using your tricks in regular rotation for about ten years.  Cheers.

  2. I think if you covered the empty box of smarties at the end with your hand, lifted and closed your hand, and then touched the box of cards with a "wipe", it would seem even more plausible that you actually transferred the smarties over making it more magical.

  3. I did this at a house party. The host had set out a bag of Halloween candy containing nerds. I used hair ties from the bathroom and set up the trick. I went outside and told two of my friends to empty a box each and tie a band around it to keep it closed while I put one on a full box “so it isn’t marked”. While they were closing their boxes, I switched my unopened box for a prepped empty box in my lap. I ended the trick as a vanish without the reveal. As they were trying to figure it out, I asked them to pass me a cigarette (where I put the candy during setup). The extra twist after the trick was “over” got a huge response!
